I have a Sirius MP3 player and will be purchasing the home kit while on vacation. I will not have a stereo with me but I would like to listen to music being broadcast. I can use AC or batteries for power, passive power would also work. I need inexpensive portable speakers that can be heard in a hotel room with the AC running.

I have headphone’s with a plug to plug into my mp3 player. Is there a way I can splice that wire, and open up my clock radio to connect the two wires, that way I can play my mp3 through the clock’s speakers. I’d like to see alternatives before buying a clock-radio built for mp3’s.
